In
January 1970 London Country Bus Services Ltd took over the country
bus services formerly operated by London Transport. The fortunes
of the newly formed company in its early years were somewhat troubled,
not least because of the elderly fleet and uneconomical route
network it inherited. This book tells the story of how London
Country tackled these problems to become one of the leading constituents
of the National Bus Company until broken up into smaller companies
in September 1986.
